You need to be confident with checking, writing, and responding to email and web browsing. If you are not confident, it may be best to take a "computer skills course" before enrolling in a Distance Computer Science course.
Either from downloads via the Web, or from a CD-ROM, the ability to install software onto your computer for the course is essential. If you have never installed software onto your computer, it would probably be best to find a friend to help you with these skills at your location, or take a "computer skills course" before enrolling in a Distance Computer Science course.
